Keep your group singing healthy

It’s so easy when singing in a group to either push your voice too hard, or under-support it while you work on blending. To balance this, vocalize at home too. Become familiar with your voice apart from hearing it alongside other singers. Sometimes you won't hear yourself well in a group; that's okay, as long as you can hear yourself well enough to stay in tune. You don't want to sing louder to hear yourself, that will make you strain. Instead, try putting one finger to your ear so you hear inside and outside at the same time. This can help with intonation, too.
